On the bomb run Aircraft Number 202 received a direct flak hit in the No. 4 engine. This resulted in the Aircraft losing part of its wing and the No. 4 engine. The Aircraft dropped behind the formation and was heard to call for fighter escort. Aircraft No. 210 reports that 20-30 minutes after bombs away he asked again for fighter protection and at that time was about 10 miles behind the formation but was O.K.
