(Possible due to engine trouble). The aircraft was not seen after the target.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><em>Lt. Roy M. Schmitz<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Aircraft 943 was flying #2 position in my element. This aircraft left the formation at 1330 hours (51\u00b039\u2019N-11\u00b030\u2019E) at an altitude of 26000 feet. I was unable to determine the extent or nature of the difficulty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><em>Lt. Thomas M.
