From MACR 856 – Mission to Schweinfurt on 17th August 1943<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

B-17F 42-3462 was hit by a rocket gun fired from enemy aircraft. The projectile severed the oxygen system and wounded Sgt. Robert C. Roy in the leg. It is believed that S\/Sgt. Stephen Smierski was also wounded at the same time. As the ship left the formation these two men bailed out at 1545 at 49\u00b005’N – 07\u00b0 05’E.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because of lack of oxygen S\/Sgt. Robert E. Crawford bailed out at 49\u00b009’N – 07\u00b032’E at 1536.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From MACR 2424 \u2013 Mission on 21st February 1944<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

B-17F 42-3462 piloted by 2nd Lt. Morris R. Marks, was last seen going over the target but as to the happenings concerning it’s loss no reports were given by the returning crew. The final disposition of the Aircraft and it’s crew is unknown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
