They made one pass at it and the ship rolled over on its back and into a tight spin. The happened just a few minutes before IP, after we had cleared the flak at Brux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><em>T\/Sgt. Ernest A. Pine<br>Engineer<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>After Baker 4, 5, and 6 dropped back and Baker 5 was hit by four ME 262s. It went into a spin and I lost sight of it immediately becuase of the tail of our ship, and I was looking for fighters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><em>S\/Sgt. Willie J. It lost altitude steadily but seemed to be under control. At this point my attention was drawn to fighters and I lost track of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><em>Sgt. Robert F.
