At 1300 hours 12,300 feet, at 55\u00b051″N – 08\u00b030″E. Aircraft no. 42-29740 from this group was seen with its no. 4 engine smoking and a 20mm hole in right elevator, but under control, and heading for Denmark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is credibly assumed that this B-17 never bore the name “Tondelayo”. But was confused with the B-17 42-29470<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
