The plane is attached to the 91st Bomb Group at Bassingbourne, England. 11 July 1944.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One source says the photo was taken on 06 July 1944. Another source gives 06 November 1944 as the date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyway, after some 15 minutes I found two more pictures of a B-17 with identical damage on the fuselage. And here the identification DF-H or A for 324th Bomb Squadron; 91st Bomb Group can be seen. Namely the <a href=\"https:\/\/b17flyingfortress.de\/en\/b17\/44-8135\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">B-17G-50-VE #44-8135<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Men inspect a Boeing B-17 &#8220;Flying Fortress&#8221; damaged during a mission over enemy territory.
