I am the grandson of Lt. Leslie R. Patterson the Co-Pilot of this aircraft and I am looking for any pictures of my grandfather or his crew during the war. No one in the family has any pictures of him while he was in the service because of severe PTSD caused by his service he destroyed anything and everything that could possibly remind him of his time in the service.

Hi David, I was able to find some individual photos of a few of the guys in his crew, but none of the entire crew together. If you would like copies, just send your email to me at jeffstamer@aol.com and I’d be happy to send them to you. Take care, Jeff

I would love to see any pictures that could possibly be my grandfather since I last posted a message I have found one picture of him in a book published by the flight school where he got his wings I guess you could call it a yearbook picture for lack of a better word. I have also found out that hi plane crashed at Leeseringen, four miles S of Nienburg/Weser, Germany on February 10, 1944 and he was taken to Stalag Luft 1 and was held in the 1 north compound. Any information on pictures you have access to related to his time in the US Army Air Corps that you are willing to share would be greatly appreciated. I sent you an email a couple months ago when I first saw your response to my message. You can reach me by email at pattersondavid59@gmail.com
