On 13 April 1943, over Trapani A/D, Sicily – a B-17F believed to be ship # 42-5248, was seen losing altitude. Ship was under control.
The ship was last seen immediately off the target in the sea. Six to seven members of crew were seen in dinghy or swimming towards it. Air-Sea Rescue was notified but no personnel were picked up.

Where does one even begin to reverse the prolific repetition of the error in this MACR? Teague was Pilot, Danish was Navigator. It’s actually a 1948 addendum to the MACR that no one ever sees… The co-pilot is my uncle. Thank you,
