Delivered Langley 14-Nov-41; Assigned 38RS/19BG [aircraft 38], Hickam Field; suffered heavy damage on arrival at Pearl Harbor, 7-Dec-41 with Capt Ray Swenson, Lt Ernie Reid, Lt Homer Taylor, Avn Cdt G.C. Beale, M/Sgt Leroy Pouncey, Sgt Earl Williams, Cpl Mac Lucas, Pvt Bert Lee, Lt Bill Schick. Attempted to land Bellows Field, Japanese gunfire ignited flare box on board, fuselage then buckled and broke in half; a passenger flight surgeon, Lt Schick, was Killed in Action by strafing fire as he ran from ship. Salvaged.
