‘Short Snorter’ was assigned 401BS/91BG [LL-B] Bangor 31-Aug-42; Bassingbourn 1-Oct-42. On 20-Dec-43 the aircraft was damaged on the mission to Romilly, France with Capt William Harris, but limped back to base OK. 10RTD. Shot down 30-Dec-42 by FW190s shortly after the leaving the target of the U-Boat pens at Lorient, France. Aircraft was set afire and exploded at 21,000 feet. This was the 3rd mission for this aircraft. 10KIA MACR 3265
