My great uncle was Wilson Elliott, Flight Engineer. My dad has his flight jacket and other items.

Wilson came to visit my dad around 1988. They had a great time. They would call each other every year on the anniversary of being shot down. They were two very brave and patriotic men.

My second cousin was Captain William J. Casey. He had a colorful life. Orphaned by the 1918 flu, raised by a flying uncle. Battle of Midway, then Europe. POW. Career in Air Force.

My grandfather was a radio operator gunner on the Banshee no. (124448) with the William Casey crew.
He helped paint the fist in iron mail clutching the lightning bolts while they were at Westover field, Mass prior to overseas departure.
