(?Baugher records as Assigned 68BG [Recon Group] lost in Mediterranean on Peni mountains between Rosas Bay and Creus Cape, NE Spain, due to poor weather and probable navigation error. All 12 Killed in Service . Missing Air Crew Report 1414 gives serial as 41-9106, but probably incorrect as ‘106 was assigned 11AF in Aleutians an Written off in May 45.?)

A/C 41-9016 “Judges Jury” was assigned to the 9th bombardment squadron, and sent to India ca mid 1942. From India to Lydda, Palestine.
A/C 41-9016 was part of Lewis Breretons Detachment In Middle East, together with HALPRO.
9th Bomb Squadron was part of 1st Provisional Bomb Group 20 June 1942 to 31 October 1942. In subsequent organizational change, 1st Provisional Bomb Group were transferred to the newly activated 376th Heavy Bombardment Group, 9AF.
The B-17’s of the 9th bomb squadron was transferred to 10 AF in India after their last mission in 27 November 1942 with 376th BG, 9AF.
