Delivered Geiger 301st Bomb Group 5/4/42; Lowry 1/6/42; Assigned 42BS/11BG Hickam Fd 10/6/42; t/o Plaine Des Gaiacs Afd, Missing in Action Rendova Is 8/9/42, with Capt Robert Richards, Co-pilot: Bob McGee, Navigator: Bill Morris, Bombardier: Chas Bayer, Flight engineer/top turret gunner: Otis Black, Radio Operator: Hugh King, Waist gunner: Yvon Bailey, Waist gunner: Peter Charuk,Tail gunner: Bill Omanoff (9 Killed in Action); crashed Rendova, on impact exploded following battle with Japanese H5K2 Mavis flying boat. Site visited by coastwatcher Sgt Harry Wickham and natives but found only eight lots of body parts. Missing Air Crew Report 16202. STINGAREE.
