Delivered Lowry 19/5/42; Assigned 435BS/19BG Hawaii 6/6/42; transferred 64BS/43BG; s/d, crashed Hong Kong mountain 1/6/43 with Ernie Naumann, Flight engineer/top turret gunner: Tom Fox [wia*], Radio Operator: Paul Cascio,Tail gunner: Chas Green [wia*](4 Prisoner of War); Co-pilot: Winslow Gardner, Navigator: Chas Lewis, Bombardier: Oliver Alvin, Ball turret gunner: Virgil Voss, Waist gunner: Bruno Bukalski, Waist gunner: Albert Smith (6 Killed in Action); there were four survivors, but when local natives led them to a Japanese patrol they were probably executed. Written off 6/6/43. Wreckage found on summit by RAAF 12/3/46. TEXAS #6.
