Delivered Cheyenne 4/3/44; Kearney 22/3/44; Grenier 7/4/44; Assigned: 332BS/94BG [XM-O] Rougham 8/4/44; detailed on training mission 23/4/44 Pilot: Norman Skinner, Co-Pilot: Ken Storey, instr. p-Jack Webb, pass-Pte Don Morgart, Engineer / Top Turret Gunner: Sam Tudisco, Ball Turret Gunner: Joe Brownlee, Waist Gunner: Bill Copeland, Waist Gunner: Ben Leone, pass-Tom McKeon (9KIA); Radio Operator: Harry Sonnet, Tail Gunner: John Cooney (2RTD); hydraulic fluid started leaking which then caught fire and crew found no extinguishers on board, crashed Cooper’s Farm, Lawshall, Sfk, UK. Anyone have any information about the loss if this B-17 on 4/23/1944 over England PLEASE share. The instructor pilot killed was my uncle i never got to meet.
