Great great uncle Jim Laverty killed on this mission. How does one find info on the crash site in Germany? How do I determine if remains of my ancestor were ever found? I know he has a grave in France, but I think his remains are not buried there.

Hi George, I’m John Cliff Laverty’s son. He as was Jim “Budd’s” younger brother and was stationed with him on the same base in England. I have a lot of detail on Budd that I can send you. He is buried here, Plot K Row 18 Grave 25, Lorraine American Cemetery, St Avold, France

Jim, or Budd was my uncle. I’m his brother John “Cliff” Laverty’s son. I have a great deal of information on Budd’s missions. He is buried here Plot K Row 18 Grave 25, Lorraine American Cemetery, St Avold, France. Please reach out of you would like to know more.

Your Dad’s aunt was Margeret Laverty, my Grandmother. We owe a great gratitude to the aviators of the B17s who fought to preserve democracy in WwII and should honor their sacrifices by remembering them. Have you been to St. Avold? Any info on the Laverty would be appreciated.
