Hi, my grandfather, Holger Selling, was the pilot for many missions. My dad, Bill Selling, has a good amount of information i’m sure he’d be happy to share. You can contact him at: bselling@comcast.net
I’ll let him know to expect someone contacting him about this. If you want to contact me, my email is : reddoguno@att.net
Cheers,
Mike

Hello Mike. My name is Bob McCarty. My father (Malcolm R. McCarty) was the navigator for 7 missions with your grandfather. I would be interested in any information that your father has about his dad’s missions. I was just recently able to reconstruct information about my dad’s missions after I was able to get some information from the Facebook page Fans of the B-17 Flying Fortress about what bomb group and squadron he was flying for. I was able to determine that my dad flew 48 missions with 7 different crews on 11 different B-17’s from 5/3/43 to 11/9/43. I had always heard that most crews flew only 25 missions. I am not sure why my dad extended his missions to 48. I was never able to discuss this with him as he was reluctant to talk about it and he passed away at the young age of 55.
