B-17F 42-30176 piloted by 1st. Lt. John L. Sundberg was attacked by enemy aircraft about 10 minutes inside the Belgium coast going into the target. the ship left the formation and seven chutes were seen dropping from the ship. No crash was seen after this observation.

Hello,
I have a War Log that was kept by my grandfather, Lester Schwab, who was the flight engineer on the Assassin. I’d be happy to share some pictures of the pages with you. I am also looking for more info on their mission.

Wonderful sketches, thanks for sharing. I’m also seeking more information on their mission, POW experiences etc. John Moyer went on to become an architect that designed and built many homes in the Coachella Valley. I’m always trying to find information about him and his life. Anything that you can share would be appreciated.

LeRoy Funk was my uncle. He did make it back to England via partisans through Belgium, France, Spain and Gibraltar.

My uncle was LeRoy Funk. He survived and made it back to England.
e eventually made it back to England after they were shot down.
