Two Wasps take the controls of the Flying Fortress at Buckingham Field, near Fort Myers, Florida. Mrs. Dawn Rochow is the pilot and Mrs. Frances Green Kari her co-pilot for this flight. [via NARA]
Their planes are ready, and the Wasps break off their conversations about flying. Soon they will be at the controls of a Flying Fortress on a gunnery mission in the sub-stratosphere over Florida. [via NARA]

Identification of the serial number

After checking block F-130-BO ship, I came across the picture of #42-30949 nick named Jumpin‘ Jive. You can see the same type of top turret and engine nacelles and cooler painted similar. But the most prominent characteristic is the darker area at backboard side. It looks very similar and identical like the nose art on its starboard side.
