My grandfather was John H. Coomes, back left in the photo in the provided web link. I am crating a shadow box for him and wanted to ensure the B-17 model I got was the correct block/series. Thanks for the info provided here.

My father piloted Dame Satan II home. Attached is a scan of his log for that flight. Dad passed away in 1990, but I do remember some of his stories flying. He transported and tested many different planes during the war.
