My uncle was top turret gunner on a B-17 called Werewolf which ditched in the Channel near the French coast as the Germans shot at them in the water. Could this be the same plane or just another with the same name? He was in the 379th and 527th Squadron stationed at Kimbolten. After this plane he was on “Miss Judy.” He was on the August 27, 1943 raid on Schweinfert right beside “My Prayer” and saw it go down in a spin on his right side. Werewolf ran out of gas coming back from Stuttgard raid.
