B-17 42-3462 / San Antonio Rose Details
From MACR 856 – Mission to Schweinfurt on 17th August 1943
B-17F 42-3462 was hit by a rocket gun fired from enemy aircraft. The projectile severed the oxygen system and wounded Sgt. Robert C. Roy in the leg. It is believed that S/Sgt. Stephen Smierski was also wounded at the same time. As the ship left the formation these two men bailed out at 1545 at 49°05’N – 07° 05’E.
Because of lack of oxygen S/Sgt. Robert E. Crawford bailed out at 49°09’N – 07°32’E at 1536.

I think you’re replying to the wrong San Antonio Rose. I guess you’re referring to this one:

You are right. My uncle Harold Cook was the radio operator on B-17 42-3462 / San Antonio Rose and the crash information is correct. Thanks!
