Delivered Denver 11/9/43; Assigned 447BG Rattlesden 21/10/43; Missing in Action Oschersleben 11/1/44 with Dick Fouts, Co-pilot: Dan Lionadakis, Navigator: Elbridge Park, Bombardier: Jim Kidd, Flight engineer/top turret gunner: Bill Wilmurth, Radio Operator: Bill Trobaugh, Ball turret gunner: Eric Hill, Waist gunner: John Curby, Waist gunner: Lou Szurleys,Tail gunner: Chas Harris (10 Returned to Duty); enemy aircraft set fire to #3, then #1 was hit, ditched North Sea, broke in half almost immediately and sank; RAF Hudson found and circled until Air Sea Rescue picked crew up and took to Gt Yarmouth, Nfk. No MACR.
