I further certify that the following is a correct statement of facts as obtained from the S-2 files for this mission:
B-17G 42-37929 piloted by 2Lt. Francis A. Fagan, was seen to be hit by enemy fighters south east of Brandenburg, Germany on the route in to the target. The wheels were lowered and the aircraft went down under control. The ship was last seen at 14:02 hours at 51°27”N and 13°26”E with six chutes leaving the ship.
