Following statement obtained by S-2 Section, 452nd Bomb Gp, at interrogation after mission.
Over the North Sea aircraft 42-37941 started down with an engine afire. The pilot managed to get the fires out and the plane headed for home station under control.

My Uncle Sebe Taylor survived and lived until January 2015 and died where he was born, but lived a great life after the war, outliving his wife and 3 sons.
