My father, Henry Bentz was a belly gunner for the Saint. He flew 20 missions with that plane before getting injured & separated from his plane. If you would like to email me at kevin.b.bentz@gmail.com I would be glad to share what I know. have a few pictures. The pilot of The Saint wrote a book about his experiences.

My father, Henry Bentz flew 26 missions over Germany. Here’s an interesting story: Dad’s job was to pull the bomb pins before they got into enemy territory. You know how they blacked out information, if someone wrote anything about a mission, date, etc. Dad saved those bomb pins & wrote the date & target of each mission, plus any details of the mission. He flew 26 missions all together. All 26 came through and nothing was blacked out !
