Delivered Long Beach 22/10/43; Walla Walla 9/11/43; ass 730BS/452BG [6K-S] Deopham Green 4/1/44; had revised Plexiglas nosepiece which was slightly shorter and a steeper forward up turn, primarily to prevent blast damage from chin turret when guns fired at maximum elevation. While on 100th mission 12/10/44 (Pilot: Coates’) w/Bill Miller, Joe Kayalta, Bob Brucks, Chas Bacharach, John Wilson, Earl Bowen, Matt Ranson (7KIA); Sid Soloman, Pashel Powell (2RTD); there was an explosion ‘; sal 18/10/44.
