Theo Roy “Ted” Diltz was my uncle on my father’s side. He flew with the 96th BG and the 413th bomb sqdn as their squadron operations officer.
Because of this he was rarely flying the same plane which makes it hard to know which plane he was initially assigned. I’d like to find his first crew, the one he flew from the states with.
His son has told me that many of my uncle’s initial crew did not survive the war. Since my uncle died in 2008 I can’t really ask him myself, and if he answered I’d be researching a much bigger problem. Any suggestions?
