This was my dad’s plane, Lt. Selmer B. Skalitzky.
He flew numerous missions in the European Theater, Germany and I’m not sure what else. I gave his flight logs to my nephew many years ago.
Thanks for all your work! It would be nice to have a search engine for the serial numbers. 183 pages searching for one took quite some time.

Hello Rod,
thank you for sharing. Do you have any photo of your father’s B-17?
By the way, there is a search function on this website. It’s in the sidebar element of this website. See screenshots:

My father Lt. Emil Cohen was also a pilot with the 709th. He flew several missions on this plane as well. He flew 35 missions @ 19 years old. He flew various planes including the famous Milk Wagon, Sandusky Jo, and others. I am currently in the process of collecting information regarding his missions and history with the Eighth.
