This bomber crashed in Gradenc, Slovenia in March 1945. My grandfather was 8 years old and alone with 2 of his brothers when a member of the crew knocked on their door asking for Partisans to help him. One of the kids ran for their uncle who could speak a little English. They managed to get him to safety, meanwhile he gave my grandfather who lived in poverty a dollar and offered them the parachute canvas to make new pants from. If anyone possibly knows who that crew member was, I’d be very happy to talk to his living relatives and it would make my now 87 year old grandfather very happy. Thanks.
