“Mexico” is incorrect.
The B-17’s collided on July 20th 1946, both went down immediately and sunk in deep water near Coiba Island, Republic of Panama as per actual accident report. I don’t know what “re-ass 30/4/47; Recl Comp 6/10/47” refers to.

“Mexico” as the crash site is incorrect. The two B-17’s collided on July 20th, 1946, both went down immediately and sunk in deep water near Coiba Island, Republic of Panama as per the actual accident report. My Uncle, Jule Steunenberg, died in the accident. All aboard the two B-17’s, twenty airmen total, perished with four bodies recovered, one being my uncle. I don’t know what “re-ass 30/4/47; Recl Comp 6/10/47” refers to.
