Thanks Gail for sharing that information with me. My Uncle, Martin Hartmann, flew on three missions in the Queen. On 28 Feb 1945, he was the waist gunner on a mission to Kassel, Germany. On 15 March 1945, he was the Togglier on a mission to Oranienburg, Germany, and on 17 March 1945 he was the Togglier on a mission to Plauen, Germany. He flew in other aircraft on his other missions: Lady Anne, Day’s Pay, Eagle’s Wrath, Heavenly Comrade, and Sleepy Time Gal. There are several aircraft in which he flew missions for which I don’t have names: 43-39100, 43-38269,43-38557, 44-6890, and 43-39051. It isn’t clear to me whether the crew he was part of also flew in these same missions on the other aircraft. Or did they get assigned to other crews to replace injured or dead crew members. Do you know the name of the pilot of your father’s crew?

My father John Jameson was navigator on Queen of the Stream on a mission to Nienhagen on 3/14/45. Pilot was Richard Roberts. It makes sense that the same plane could have had multiple crews. My father said usually crews stayed together but not always do to being wounded or sick etc.

My grandfather, William Schnorr (whom I was named after) was the bombardier/nose gunner on “Queen of the Stream”. I would like to invite those who have commented, relatives and historians to join a new facebook group that is specific to the 410th! I am hoping that we can all pool some information and photos specific to this squad. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1103927674081115/ Hope to see you all there!!
