Good Afternoon,
My father, Sal Cestaro, was the radio operator on this mission.
Can you tell me where in Austria his plane was shot down?
He flew 44 missions and became a POW for 10 months in Germany.
He only mentioned that he landed in a cemetery and never really spoke of his experiences. My friends are visiting Vienna next month and said they would make a pilgrimage to the site if possible.
