B-17F 42-30514, 30515, 30516, and 30517 were all assigned as instructional aircraft to the “Boeing Flying Fortress School” at Boeing Field (Plant 2) Seattle, WA during late June of 1943; all four of these planes remained with the school until the end of the war. They were kept in battle ready condition in the case of being recalled to active duty.
