My research shows this aircraft was destroyed on the ground at Clark Field, Luzon, the Philippines, on 8 December 1941. Ref. ‘Fortress Against the Sun,’ author Gene Eric Salecker (page 382); also, see Pacific Wrecks website: https://pacificwrecks.com/aircraft/b-17/index.html. Thanks.

I also believe you have the wrong history for this B-17C.
I noticed that Dave Osborne had the duplicated the B-17D 077 entry at the B-17C 077 entry. I suggest that you carried on the error. That would add credibility to the Brinson/Salecker account of Clark Field being the more credible synopsis.
I recommend you verify the Osborne duplication then investigate the alternate PI loss.
