Delivered Cheyenne 27/5/44; Kearney 6/6/44; Grenier 26/6/44. Assigned 836BS/487BG [2G- ] Lavenham 30/6/44. On 20 July1944 was involved in a mid-air collision with B-24H 42-52588 ‘Annie’ piloted by David Ozbolton whilst on a bombing practice mission with Capt Paul Stults, Co-pilot: Eldridge Thomas, Navigator: Chas Heil, Bombardier: Lester Walters, pass-T/Sgt Pete CastilloRIP of Injuries 12 Aug, (5 Killed in Service). Howard Parris, Flight engineer/top turret gunner: Melvin Brown, Radio Operator: Chas Shaffer, Waist gunner: Julius Brown, passenger -Lt Russ Grantham (6 Returned to Duty). Crashed between Clapstile Far, and Officers Club on base. Salvaged 21/7/44.
