Delivered Lincoln 18/8/44; Grenier 6/9/44; Assigned 429BS/2BG Amendola 13/9/44; Missing in Action Munich 22/11/44 with Capt David Joyce, Co-pilot: Frank Covey, Navigator: Bill Misic, Bombardier: Bill Hix, Flight engineer/top turret gunner: Clair Schmitt, Radio Operator: Ken Hoffman, Ball turret gunner: Bob Gayle, Waist gunner: Harry Brett, Waist gunner: Glen Machovec,Tail gunner: George Hill (10 Returned to Duty); ditched and attacked by Me 109s and German patrols boats which were driven off by RAF Spitfires; aircraft floated for 55 minutes before crew rescued by 2 RAF Walruses.
