376th Bomb Group Mission History, Edwardf. Clendenin Jr.
A/C 41-9027 was assigned to the 9th bombardment squadron, and sent to India ca mid 1942. From India to Lydda, Palestine.
A/C 41-9027 was part of Lewis Breretons Detachment In Middle East, together with HALPRO.
9th Bomb Squadron was part of 1st Provisional Bomb Group 20 June 1942 to 31 October 1942. In subsequent organizational change, 1st Provisional Bomb Group were transferred to the newly activated 376th Heavy Bombardment Group, 9AF.
The B-17’s of the 9th bomb squadron was transferred to 10 AF in India after their last mission in 27 November, 1942, with 376th BG, 9AF.
