Delivered Denver 26 July 1943; Dyersburg 9 August 1943; Assigned 550BS/385BG [XA-P] Great Ashfield 3 September 1943. Missing in Action Münster, Germany 10 October 1943. Shot down by enemy aircraft. Was seen at 22,000 feet with No. 2 engine on fire, losing altitude but under control as it veered to the right; then seen to break up. Crashed near the Helhuizenweg, north of Holten, Holland, The Netherlands. Missing Air Crew Report – MACR 826.
