B-17 42-3381 Details
The book “5th Bomb Wing – History of Aircraft Assigned” by Richard E. Drain states that #42-3381 was damaged by flak on 04 November 1943 and salvaged. Doesn’t sound like “Missing in Action” since there is no MACR or crew name known either. Salvaged sounds more plausible.
