Remark in Missing Air Crew Report 9349

Immediately after making out turn at the I.P. a heavy fighter attack was made on our high group which was flying in trail of our lead and low groups. These attacks were sudden, close and well pressed and the entire high group was lost.

One attack by four (4) S/E A/C was made on our low group and this aircraft was forced to leave the formation. About 1 1/2 minutes after this attack, friendly fighter support began to drift back grom their forward position along the bomb run and as a result no further attackes were made. This aircraft was last seen trailing between the I.P. and target, going down smoking.

Due to these fighter attacks no further observation were made and no further information regarding this aircraft is known.
