My father was Charles Manning, the navigator. Only him and co-pilot Bob Enstad survived the crash. Both were imprisoned at Stalug Luft No. 3 in Sagen, Germany and eventually liberated by Patton’s Army. My father lived a full, successful life. He passed away in 2018 at age 96.
