44-6964 LG-Y was the second B-17 to be named “Lady Luck” in the 91st Bomb Group. She replaced 42-107027 “Hikin’ for Home” as LG-Y when 027 was abandoned on the continent on the 14th February 1945. When “Hikin’ for Home” was repaired and returned to the 322nd Bomb Squadron towards the end of March 1945, she was remarked as LG-X, with “Lady Luck” continuing as LG-Y. The crew photo for the second “Lady Luck” can be found on the 91st Bomb Group Website. http://www.91stbombgroup.com/crewphotos/ladyluck1.html
