B-17 #063 was seen to turn back from formation near Frankfurt. Plane was still under control when last seen. Ten chutes were reported to have been seen.

Hi Dan, I am intensively involved in writing a book about the history of the German Luftwaffe night fighter-wing (II./Nacht-Jagd-Geschwader 1). Because Hptm. von Bonin, Oblt. Walter Barte and Lt. Hans Witzke claiming the B-17 “Picklepuss”, I would be very interested to use some photos in my book.

I have the book that was written about the picklepuss. my stepdad, Grover Barney was one of the survivers.
