Collided with Me 109, went down on fire and exploded. Debris hit the B-17 #42-30047 ‘Sweeter Girl’, which also damaged and shot down by Me 109.

The American cemetery in Margraten, the Netherlands has an adoption program for the graves for years so that the soldiers can be honored and occasionally flowers are added to the grave. We have adopted the grave of second lieutenant Israel Levine of the 351st bomber squadron, 100th bomber group. He was a navigator on the plane with the name Sexy Suzy, Mother Of Ten aka Holy Terror. He died on October 10, 1943 in the Vinnenberger forest, Warendorf-Ostbevern, Germany. Maybe this helps to get more information. For an honorable project to give a face to all names on the crosses, project “faces of Margraten” (www.degezichtenvanmargraten.nl) we are looking for a photo of Israel Levine and I hope it can still be found somewhere in your archives. I would really appreciate it if that were the case. Israel Levine was born on February 11, 1917 in Los Angeles County, California.
I would love to hear from you and thank you in advance for all the work you do. It would mean a lot to everyone who puts a lot of energy into remembering the boys in Margraten.

Thank you for remembering these men. My grandfather was a tail gunner on this plane. He has since passed away. I dont know if he had any pictures of him. I have a picture of my grandfather who was a pow after sexy Suzy was shot down.

Sorry I didn’t see your message before. A lot has happened in the meantime. I have now found a photo and familiy of Israel and he finally has a face. I received an eyewitness report from his family telling the story of your grandfather. It is written by Heins Eicholt. I don’t know if you have that report yourself. Does anyone know if a Peter R Gregg Eason this plane at any time? My father was a b 17 pilot and I thought that was the name of his plane
