I found the propeller off this plane some years ago

My uncle, William Aunspaugh was the navigator on the crew and did not survive the ditching. I met John Mont who was the ball turret gunner, survived the ditching, and visited him several times before his passing in 2015. It was John’s 6th mission and in April 13 1944 he was shot down again bombing the Messerschmidt factory near Augsburg Germany was captured and finished the war in Stalag 17B.
