My father, Capt. Arthur C. Devine, USAF (Ret.) and his crew, ferried B17G 42-38076 “Carnival Queen”, (his father was “King of the St. Paul winter Carnival”) from St. Paul, to the 532nd BS, 381st BW, station in England. He piloted his crews on 13 missions, on various assigned B17’s, from March 30, 1943, until the entire crew were re-assigned on to a unit in Benghazi, Libya. He served for a total of 50 missions, always bringing back his very damaged plane to safe landings.
Because the build up and continued missions over Sicily, Italy, the European Theatre of Operations, I am finding little war records of his service for his missions 14 through 50. He was twice wounded, from Flak to his face. More info could be useful.
I served almost 5 years, in Prum Air Station, Germany, 30 ikm, North of Bitburg.
