Delivered Long Beach 1/11/43; Gr Island 13/11/43; Assigned 368BS/306BG [BO-H] Thurleigh 18/1/44; Missing in Action Berlin 6/3/44 with Chas Smith, Co-pilot: Merle Brown, Navigator: Stan Buck, Bombardier: Herman Allen, Flight engineer/top turret gunner: Carl Heuser, Radio Operator: Vic Marcotte, Ball turret gunner: Tom Stillson, Waist gunner: Joe Paul, Waist gunner: Don Courson,Tail gunner: R.B. Trumble (10INT); flak KO’d two engines, & set on fire by crew after crash landing Hemse, on Gotland Island, Sweden; eventually some parts were used as spares for others; Missing Air Crew Report 2735. LIBERTY LADY.
