The B-17 in the photo isn’t a Vega. It is more likely B-17F-95-BO 42-30238 also with the 388BG and known as ‘Wing and a Prayer’.

I concur with Ross Smith in that this is not a Vega F-35-VE. Furthermore I also suggest that this Seattle built F-B0 circa mid-block 90 or higher. And that the 385th, 388th & 390th BGs deployed overseas with may G-BO in block range this a/c represent.
so in summary, Rose’s recommended alternative identification is a very good one.
