Delivered Cheyenne 25/1/44; Gr Island 20/2/44; Presque is 12/3/44; Assigned: 333BS/94BG Rougham 16/3/44; 410BS; crash: takeoff for Kaiserlauten 6/1/45 Pilot: Jack Collins, Navigator: Gordon Henry, tog-Clinton Hallman, Engineer / Top Turret Gunner: Jim Tate, Radio Operator: Ray Von Bokel (5KIA); Co-Pilot: Bob Doran, Waist Gunner: Cecil Schermerhorn, Ball Turret Gunner: Ony Carrico, Tail Gunner: Nick Urda (4RTD- wia); lost engine on take off and ploughed into woods at Moreton Hall, near Bury St Edmunds; three civilians were injured and exploding bombs damaged several homes; Salvaged.
